Site of Divisional Commissioner Office launched .
The web site of the divisional commissioner was sucessfully
launched by Mr. Ashok Jaitly the then Chief secretary of Jammu and Kashmir.
The objectives of the website are as follows:
Give the users and public better understanding of the working of
the divisional administration and the state government
and inform them of the services being provided.
To improve the speed and quality of the communication between the users and the government authorities .In the near future we expect the website to be more interactive.
To keep the subordinate offices including the Deputy Commissioners informed online about policy matters , government orders ,
notifications ,circulars and directions from the desk of the Divisional Commissioner.
The site was inaugrated on 21 August 2000.

Ex-gratia relief for the firing victims of Pahalgam ,Mirbazar and Sandhoo of district Anantnag has been santioned
by the deputy commissioner Anantnag and sent in the form of bank drafts to the Chief Secretaries of Bihar ,Madya Pradesh , Haryana , UP
Punjab and Delhi for disbursement among the NOKs of those killed. The victims included Amarnath Yatris and labourers from other states .The incident
took place on 1st of August 2000 when unidentified militants gunned downed about 60 people in three seperate incidents and also injured about 50 more.
